Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Everett Firefighters Association, I wish to thank you for your contribution to our community through your non profit activities. Social clubs, civic groups and other non profit organizations add a great deal to the quality of life and the vitality of the areas that they serve. We also, are committed to service both on the job and off. We understand and appreciate when groups like yours make a contribution of their time and energy to make the world a little bit better. Your group contributes in a positive way that benefits many people both directly and indirectly. You deserve to be acknowledged for a job well done.

Please allow me to tell you a little bit about our group and our hall. Our membership is made up of both active and retired Everett Firefighters, acting in an off duty capacity.  We are a 501c4 non profit group that functions separately from the City of Everett and/or its Fire Department. For many years, we leased a building from the Port of Everett located on the Everett waterfront. That building was torn down a couple of years ago to accommodate the redevelopment of that area. Our membership then purchased the building we are in now, and remodeled it. Member funds were used as a down payment and to finance the remodel. Monthly mortgage payments come directly from member paychecks. In addition to the initial costs and monthly contributions, our members pay a fee in order to use their own facility. Suffice it to say, that we have made our hall available to others, for much less than we allow it to our own members. (Members pay $200 or $100, depending on the day). Donating our hall to groups such as yours has become one of the ways we give to our community. Our members also give thousands of dollars every year to many worthy causes.

We have donated our hall to many groups that need the space to meet, and have demonstrated a benefit to the community. It has been very gratifying to be able to play a small role in the success of other organizations. As word of our hall spreads, demand for our space has increased as well. Our mission, as it relates to our hall, is to do the most good for the most people. That includes our own members. As the popularity of the hall increases, available dates for other groups and our own membership decreases.

In order to manage increased use and future demand, we are asking all of you to join with us in maximizing our goal of “most good for most people”.  We have created some guidelines that will move us in that direction.  We appreciate your assistance and are confident that you will do your best to help us with our mission.
